A couple of solutions ..... do you have a video out on your laptop - you should do. Is it a D-Sub (old style) connector - usually a Blue end on the connector or the new style DVI - usually White connectors? If the latter, you can get hold of a DVI to HDMI converter. Have a look at for an example. Failing that, you can get D-SUB to DVI converters also but you will not get HD from it. Hope that helps!! Cheers Tim |

OK, you will have a couple of problems anyway. If you use a USB adapter, you will be restriced on the bandwidth that is available to you so you will NEVER get HDMI 1080P (you may be lucky to get 546i or whatever number it is)over that form of connection. Also, if it is Video out only into the HDMI Cable, you will not get any sound as the HDMI cable carries both Video and Audio and most sets don't allow a different audio channed when using the HDMI connector. Another option ....... Get an AV Receiver with DVI Inputs or even S-Video if your laptop puts that out (there are some on the market with DVI interfaces). Get a high quality 7.5mm jack to Phono converter cable and set the amp up to "upscale" the video to 1080p (which is fairly standard in the new amps). You would then have a HDMI cable from the Amp to the screen which would provide you with Audio and Video. Hope this helps - I LOVE spending other peoples money!! Lol |
