As it turned out.
The device manager said that everything is working ok.
All drivers working ok.
I double checked the power cord to the video card to only find a capacitor unattached.
Obviously a hardware issue
See photo.
I have since reinstalled the old NVIDIA and I am running normal again.
Can this be soldered or repaired in any way??

| OK the only problem that i think might be causing you the problem is your onboard video you need to disable it because even if you install a video card the onboard will always act as the defult display when you try to run a application so you need to go into system device and disable it |

why bother? send it back 2 where u bought it from !
and TIM , buy a Nvidia card m8 , plz plz buy Nvidia 9600GT is cheap , believe me , any Nvidia is better than ATI , plus all Nvidia cards use less power from psu , thus increases fps and less lag

The new batch of Ati cards certainly out perform the Nvidia range.
I always prefer Ati, 1 because of better drivers.
Too many issues with Nvidia cards and BHD, with the sky messed up etc etc..
Look into the Ati Radeon 4850/4870 cards, they are some of the best around now for the price |

NO WAY!!!! nvidia rule still I may only have a 9800gtx but it plays evertything on top specs and everyone is still writing the games for nvidia
the only time the ati cards beat nvidia the tester fiddled the scores |

hey
agree with Koko should be able to be soldered. When soldering it dont keep the heat on to long, if it is a multi layer board then you need to get solder all the way through mate.

Are you so sure about that?
Take a look at the 4870x2 in crossfire then.
9800gtx is a good card i agree, but as i said ATi's new range has been very promising up to now.
And no the thousands of testers do not fiddle the scores in favor of either brand... |
