Hi spike

Ignore the error message and look to the lower section where a small pc  icon shows add the ip in this section

you may also have to add the location of BHD  folder which is in the options tab at top as you reistalled

Hope this helps

You may be able to unlock the res in the cfg file in the BHD folder

Open the file  dfv.cfg in notepad and change the 0 to a 1 (Zero to One ) along side the res you require.

Hope this works for you

try running in and older compatibility mode (not sure how it is in win 8 ) but right click the icon and you should get some options 1 of them will be to run in XP/win7 mode.

i am not sure how steam works so cant help with that sorry

I guess you could have a search about the web to find a download of BHD and then the pinger and us old peeps can help.

If anyone has any help with steam please reply as it would be good to know for future problems

And Andy (Hilander) when did you get that sense of humor (i bet it was cheap if a scotsman bought it )

Hi Mr Duck
You may want to try setting the game in another resolution .

As this seems to happen when you get shot your screen must be black alot :)

find your black hawk down folder and open the file dfv.cfg it will open in note pad

look down the list and you will see all the different res from 480 x ** to 1650 x ** after each entry you will see a 0 or a 1 just change the 0 to a 1 on the res you want.

then start the game and click options and video and you will have the res you want

Dave

hope that helps if not catch me on       .........................................TS....................................lol

No dont think it will be GFX as BHD does not require much to run

not sure why then. If anyone knows why this happens can you perhaps pass on the info

Doc I think the main problem is that M24/Tact300 you know it would not happen with the 21 Laughing .

The Ram will help and as Danny said Xp would help even more.

try to use a seperate power cord not one used by cd or hd as it needs uniterupeted power also check if there is a power socket on Motherboard as its also needed some times. Can we have M/board spec and Graphics card spec windows ver and driver for Gfx

Just as a test turn off pc and unplug Floppy and cd and if you can 1 hd power cords. just to check your Power supply is up to it DO NOT UNPLUG WHILE PC IS RUNNING.

I can load as Philkill described and yes that?s good but I must hit the F8 at the right time lol and yes if I do nothing XP32 loads anyway this works and I will use it if I can not solve the Dual boot menu in windows
Thanks Phil

Tom here is what happens in the Windows menu
Boot ini from each drive

32Bit single drive

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional x64 Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

64Bit Raid0 in Stripe

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional x64 Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

Ok this is what happens

I have boot menu screen
1 xp 32
2 xp 64

select 1 and enter = xp32 loads np

select 2 and enter = Windows could not start because the file is missing
<windows>system32
toskrnl.exe
Please reinstall a copy of the above file

Thanks in advance for your time
